MGH Designated ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Marion Health has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).The ACR is a national organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs for focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, as well as the delivery of comprehensive health care services.

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes those breast imaging centers who have earned accreditation in all of the College's voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.

Jennifer Limiac BS, RDMS, Michele Myers RT(R)(M) and their associated staff dedicated many hours to achieve accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.

Only 8.5% of breast imaging centers in Indiana are designated as an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

"We are very proud to have achieved this elite status. Together with Drs. Don Bruns, John Dean, Richard Sanchez, Paul Gandy, and Peter Simmons, we will continue to provide the hometown service you have come to know with nationally recognized quality," commented Lynn Imel, Administrative Director of Radiology at Marion Health.
