Marion Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy, & Aquatic Therapy Programs
At Marion General Hospital we provide outpatient physical therapy, occupational
therapy, and speech therapy in our Northwood Medical Center location in Marion.
We treat clients with pain in the spine, shoulders, hands, knees, or hips
during one-on-one treatment sessions with licensed therapists. We can
treat sports Injuries, post-operative conditions, acute and chronic orthopedic
conditions. We also treat hand injuries, strokes, total knee and total
hip replacements, rotator cuff surgeries, and more.
Physical Therapy services offer postoperative rehabilitation, therapeutic exercises, and
patient education, different manual therapy techniques (Certified SASTM
clinicians in Northwood), modalities, aquatic or pool therapy, lymphedema
treatments, dizziness or vertigo evaluation and treatment,
Occupational Therapy will address activities of daily living (ADL’s), treat hand or arm
injuries pre or postoperatively, perform wheelchair evaluations, fabricate
hand or upper extremity splints, improve gross and fine motor coordination
for the hand or arm.
Speech Therapy can work on communication or speech problems, conduct treatments following
a modified barium swallow study (MBSS), as well as perform vital stim
rehabilitation that uses electrical stimulation to help the swallowing muscles.
Aquatic Therapy takes advantage of the unique properties of water so that exercises and
therapy techniques can be done without compression forces (such as gravity)
that affect or hinder routine land-based programs.
