Marion General Hospital Partners With Indiana Donor Network

The month of April is here, which means it’s time to prepare for National Donate Life Month. Marion Health is partnering with Indiana Donor Network to champion the cause of organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation. Together, we will celebrate those who have given the tremendous gift of life, and we will encourage more Hoosiers to register their donation decisions.

Marion Health encourages your active involvement in National Donate Life Month. As healthcare providers and leaders in this community, we are in a unique position to share the lifesaving and healing message of donation and transplantation. With Indiana Donor Network’s help, we will give Hoosiers – our families, friends, neighbors, patients, colleagues and hospital visitors – the information they need to make informed decisions about donation.

As many of you know all too well, the need is great. Over 1,300 Hoosiers and 115,000 people nationwide are waiting for lifesaving organ transplants. Another person will be added to the national transplant waiting list within the next 10 minutes. And today alone, an estimated 22 Americans will die because a donated organ wasn’t made available in time.

We can all do our part. One single registered donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance the lives of approximately 75 people through tissue donation. If you haven’t already registered your decision to donate, there’s no better time to do it than National Donate Life Month. You can learn more about donation and register as a donor at IndianaDonorNetwork.org.

Thank you for your support, for celebrating life with us and for championing the cause.
