MGH to Build New Outpatient Medical Park in South Marion

Marion Health is building its first medical center to be located in south Marion.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new 35,000 square-foot Marion Health South Marion Medical Park took place at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26.

The new, outpatient medical center will provide a full range of imagining services, including much enhanced breast imaging, laboratory specimen collection, mini-lab testing, and EKG testing. It will also include primary care physician offices for approximately six physicians.

“The new medical park will replace the Marion Health PMi imaging facility in north Marion and offer significant expanded services," states Paul L. Usher, President and CEO. “The MGH South Marion Medical Park will provide improved access to outpatient services for our patients' convenience.”

The new outpatient medical park will be located on Bella Drive, which is between Meijer and Walmart on State Road 9.

"The building is being designed with the patient in mind, from a more streamlined registration process to more convenient parking for easy access," says Usher.

Construction of the new $12 million building is currently taking place and the plan is to complete the project by spring 2012, weather permitting.
