Grant County Medical Society Elects New Officers

The Grant County Medical Society has elected new officers for 2011. Shirley T. Khalouf, M.D., was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. David G. Roe, M.D., was selected as Vice President, and William J. Granger, M.D., was chosen to serve a second term as President of the Society.

The Society was founded in the office of William Lomax, M.D., Marion, Indiana on June 16, 1848. The Grant County Medical Society is one of the pioneer Medical Societies in the State of Indiana, having been organized one year prior to the State Medical Association and one year after the American Medical Association.

“The fact the Society continues to exist after 160 years is a tribute to the dedication of all past and current members who have diligently worked to ensure the health and welfare of Grant County residents,” states Dr. William J. Granger, President. “I am proud to have been once again chosen as a leader to help ensure that tradition continues.”
